Top places to visit in Bulgaria

Tsarevets Fortress, A symbol of Bulgaria’s past greatness, Tsarevets Fortress is built on the spot where the palace of the medieval tsars once stood 800 years before when Tarnovo was its capital. Explore the ancient rambling ruins and stumble across the remains of over 400 houses and innumerable churches. The panoramic views of the surrounding landscape reveal how the location of the fortress was strategically placed, 206m above sea level, to protect the kingdom from invasion for hundreds of years. Visiting the stronghold involves a lot of walking up steep slopes, but because the only access to the fortress is on foot you can wander the grounds and climb the old walls in peace.

Veliko Tarnovo, The legendary City of the Tsars stands aloft on the edge of the rising foothills of Bulgaria’s northern mountains. Bisected by the S-shaped meanders of the Yantra River, the town’s setting is nothing short of breathtaking, with terraces of terracotta-coloured roofs looming over the waterways below. Advices when renting a car

You’ll find major international car rental agencies all over the world – think Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Sixt and Thrifty. But depending on where you’re traveling, locally owned companies could offer lower rates; before booking, read reviews to be sure their companies are up to the standards of the majors.

Always shop around. Check the major booking engines and aggregator sites (such as Expedia, Priceline and Kayak) to get an idea of what rates are available, but you should also visit the car rental companies’ websites as well – they often offer exclusive discounts. What is the entry Sri Lanka eVisa ?

Tourism in Sri Lanka has been growing ever since the end of the civil war in 2009. The island country is quite beautiful despite the fact that its economy is not among the best in the world. The beauty of the country can largely be attributed to the natural lifestyles that the people have adopted, which includes covering the hills with large tea gardens.

However, for tourists who are willing to shed a few extra dollar bills from their pockets, there is an option to stay in high-end luxury hotels as well. This means that Sri Lanka has something to offer for all types of tourists, whether indoors or outdoors. From open tea plantations and high waterfalls to spas and pools, you will find everything in Sri Lanka. (E visa to Sri Lanka for US Citizens) Read more about What is the entry Sri Lanka eVisa ?

Holidays in Sri Lanka

Hiking in Riverston Sri Lanka was an unexpected highlight of my journey throughout the island. Riverston is a region best defined by the popular term, ‘off the beaten path’. We drove for several hours, parked in the middle of nowhere and then embarked on a hike.

We headed across the river and through the rice fields and farmland. There is minimal signage but luckily we had our guide Lukobanda to guide us up. The hike doesn’t have a specific name according to the locals other than the Riverston Hike. The hike looks out over the Knuckles mountain range and the surrounding highlands. It’s one of the short day trip hikes in the area. The end of the hike ends with a sharp 300m drop, which made for some pretty epic photos. From here you can chill and take in the views of the Thelgamuwa Valley, the terraced rice fields, and the Knuckles mountain range. This spot is called ‘The Worlds End’.The hike is 5km long but not incredibly difficult. Read more about Holidays in Sri Lanka

Search cars for the most awesome luxury vacation

Looking the most awesome luxury travel tour and you need to rent a car for your luxury vacation at affordable prices ? Here is a checkpoint list :

What a luxury to sit back and relax while your own private driver takes you wherever you wish to go. No jostling luggage at the train station, no airport security to deal with. Just step outside your hotel door and be whisked away in your luxury sedan. Traveling by private car allows for stops at that quaint Michelin star restaurant, out-of-the-way charming villages, and special sites that are just too hard to get to with train or air travel. If I had taken a train or flown between Munich and Prague I would not have discovered Regensburg, Germany, a medieval charmer, or historic Ceský Krumlov in the Czech Republic on my drive outside of Prague. I oftentimes find that a private driver is not much more expensive than the price of two first class rail tickets. And then there’s your airport arrival. Start your vacation off on the right foot and have a driver pick you up. I love spotting my name on a placard at the airport gate, held by a driver ready and waiting to get me to my hotel without the hassle of taxi lines.
